Madswimmer & BigBay Events Langebaan Dash -2023

On February 4th, 2023, the MADSWIMMERS, in collaboration with Big Bay Events, organized an extreme open water swim in Langebaan, South Africa, to support the Guild Cottage. Fifty-seven swimmers participated in agrueling 20km, 12km, or 7km course to raise much-needed funds for this worthy cause.
Despite the early 4am start, the swimmers were able to achieve their targets, thanks to the fantastic weather conditions. The event turned out to be highly successful, raising over R25000 for the Guild Cottage.
The Guild Cottage is an organization that provides a safe haven for girl survivors of sexual abuse, representing all demographics in South Africa. Sexual abuse is a pervasive issue in South Africa, affecting individuals from all cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. The girls are removed from their abusive circumstances and referred to Guild Cottage by the courts, where a team of experts provide appropriate therapy and support to help them heal.
